I received an invitation to support a charity called Baby Girl Project, which is funded largely through the Aquarian Bookstore in Richmond. The support requested was in the form of intuitive readings, being offered by volunteers as a fund raising event. I had already scheduled myself to be part of an Angel Immersion retreat weekend at Wintergreen, and thought this might be a good opportunity to practice what I might learn at the retreat.

Though my work as a Rubenfeld Synergist, and Massage Therapist really, is highly intuitive, I have never done “readings” for others. I have been getting in the habit of using Doreen Virtue's message cards, safely tucked into my iPhone, for inspiration and guidance. This is largely due to Chris Ammerman of Zenquility, who has been very forthright about her connection to the Angelic Realm, and has inspired me to make this beautiful and loving connection more of my daily life. I have found these messages to be almost unfailingly pertinent and helpful.

So, adding these things up, I figured “What the heck - give it a try.” So off to Richmond I went this past Sunday to participate in the fund raising for this very worthy cause. Now, I wouldn't offer Psychic readings, because I don't consider myself a Psychic, and in addition this term seems too general and potentially negative. But Angel Readings- how could I go wrong with those?

As I entered the room of what is called the Chrysalis Center, emphasis on the “Al” in the middle of the word, I joined a line waiting to be attended. Chairs at the side of the room held folks waiting for either readings or time with volunteer healers- Energy Workers, Massage Therapists etc. This room was across the parking lot from the Aquarian Bookstore, which I never did get to see, by the way. On my way to this event I had passed through a very interesting street of shops I later learned were called Carytown. I plan to allow time to check out these shops, next time I make the trip to Richmond.

“My” table was already set up with my name, and a classy black cloth with a red silk like runner, with two equally draped chairs awaiting. I made a trip to the healthy snacks, and the potty, and was ready to go. I awaited my first client.

I can hardly tell you my joy in encountering so many good people sitting across from me, looking for information and greater connection to their Angels. My first reading was for a lovely young woman dealing with Bi-polar disorder, and I found myself reassuring her that her disorder, though challenging, was not the end of the world, that the time she spent being out of touch with the rest of the world's reality was not horrendous, just a waste of time, of which she has an infinite supply. Archangel Michael offered himself to be a support for her when she is at the familiar cross road, which she encounters every month, to guide and support her in choosing to continue to take care of her body's needs, getting enough rest and nutrition, despite her urge to enjoy the sense of limitless energy she experiences in her Manic phase. My heart goes out to this beautiful young woman and her struggles, but I feel that her Angels have given her a new opportunity to live her life more to her liking.

Then there is a lag. I'm feeling tired from my long weekend and long drive to Richmond, and I'm thinking “What am I doing here? I'd rather be home with my hubby, than sitting here waiting! And I still have a long drive home” So, I challenge my Angels. ­ I set my timer for the usual reading time of 15 minutes and I say, if this alarm goes off, and no one comes to my table, I'm going home! Well, I was there till closing time at 5:00, though I did send out the challenge again any time I was ready, and no one was coming to me. If I needed confirmation, and by now I really shouldn't, as I have had quite a bit over the years, my experiences with this timer challenge would convince me that my Angels are definitely paying attention, and that I was in the right place at the right time.
